BEFORE YOU GO

Your questions, answered.

A few useful details to help you choose your day. For anything particular to your group, include it in your enquiry.

01How long does the tour take from Chania?

Elafonisi Express takes approximately 6–7 hours from Chania. The full-day Elafonisi & Cretan Honey experience takes approximately 8–10 hours. Your accommodation, traffic and chosen stops affect the final timing.

02How long does it take from Rethymno?

Allow approximately 8 hours for Elafonisi Express from Rethymno and approximately 8–10 hours for the full-day honey experience. Rethymno is a longer journey, so even the Express option is a full day out rather than a 4–5-hour trip.

03Is the price per person or per group?

All advertised prices are for your private group. Prices depend on your departure area, experience and whether you have 1–4 or 5–8 guests. Your final quote is confirmed before you book.

04Do you pick us up from our hotel?

Yes. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included within the designated Chania and Rethymno service areas. Share your accommodation when enquiring so the pickup location and any route-specific arrangements can be confirmed.

05Is honey tasting included?

The full-day Elafonisi & Cretan Honey tour includes the Stathakis Family Honey Experience and honey tasting in the advertised package price. It is not included in Elafonisi Express. The session and timing are confirmed when arranging your day.

06Is lunch included?

Lunch is not included. A local taverna stop can be arranged if it fits your chosen itinerary. Food and drinks are paid separately.

07Can we spend more time at the beach?

Tell us your priorities when enquiring. Beach time and stops can be adjusted within the agreed tour duration, subject to weather, road conditions and the honey session where applicable. The full-day itinerary aims for 3–4 hours at Elafonisi.

08Can we visit Topolia Gorge?

The full-day honey tour includes the scenic Topolia Gorge route. A short photo stop is optional and depends on road and weather conditions. A gorge hike is not part of the advertised itinerary.

09Are sunbeds and umbrellas included?

No. Sunbeds and umbrellas are paid locally and are subject to availability. Bring your own towel and sun protection.

10What happens if the weather is bad?

The operator will assess conditions and contact you if the itinerary needs to change. Ask for the applicable cancellation and weather terms with your quote before confirming a booking.

11Can we book for two people?

Yes. Both experiences are private and suitable for couples, families and small groups of up to eight guests. A two-person booking uses the 1–4 guest group price.

12What should we bring?

Bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection, a hat and comfortable footwear. Tell us about child seats, mobility requirements or food allergies before booking so the arrangements can be confirmed.

13Who owns Elafonisi Tours?

Ernest is the owner of Way to Crete, the operator behind Elafonisi Tours. He is a local host who grew up in Crete. Your host and the arrangements for your chosen day are confirmed when booking.
