Start with the day you want

Elafonisi is known for pale sand, patches of pink along the shore and clear lagoon water. It is an outdoor coastal landscape, so the experience depends on the weather as much as on the itinerary. Pink tones vary; photographs are not a promise of how the beach will look on your visit.

For a straightforward beach escape, choose Elafonisi Express. If you enjoy making the journey part of the day, the full-day tour adds the scenic Topolia Gorge route and a Stathakis Family honey experience.

How much time should you allow?

Our Express itinerary allows approximately 6–7 hours from Chania or 8 hours from Rethymno, including the outward and return journeys. The full-day honey experience allows approximately 8–10 hours and aims for 3–4 hours at the beach. These are whole-tour durations, not driving times.

Share your actual accommodation rather than only the town name. Pickup location, traffic, stops and road conditions can change the schedule. Avoid putting an inflexible airport transfer or important reservation immediately after your return.

Pack for an outdoor day

Private transport and bottled water are included in our tours. The beach itself still calls for a little preparation.

• Bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection and a hat.
• Wear comfortable footwear for the approach to the beach.
• Budget separately for lunch, sunbeds and umbrellas.
• Mention child seats, mobility needs and allergies when enquiring.

Leave the beach as you find it

Keep sand and shells on the shore, use established paths and take your rubbish with you. Follow local signs and instructions. Shallow-looking water is not a guarantee of safe conditions; decide whether to enter the water based on the conditions on the day.
